The South Carolina Brewers Association is pleading for beer lovers to make a call for support of Senate Bill 423 which increases the amount of beer a brewery can sell on their premises.
This increase includes the alcoholic concentration, number of brands, and amount that can be sold. It's worth noting North Myrtle Beach's own Greg Hembree helped write the amendment.
If you've been to Myrtle Beach's New South Brewing for a sample or growler, you've, no doubt, gotten "the tour." South Carolina laws require a tour to be taken before you can purchase or sample any of the products at a brewery. New South has been very diligent about giving a guided tour since the laws defining "tour" aren't clear beyond "explaining the entire brewing process." Unfortunately, S.423 doesn't touch that condition of the law, but anything that relieves some of the restrictions of sales is a step in the right direction.
