So many events, so little time. Seriously, this weekend is at capacity.
I usually jumble events around in my weekend round-ups, but I'm going to take this edition one day at a time for both of our sakes.
So, coming up on Friday evening you've got the supremely exciting Charleston Mac Off - the ultimate battle for the Lowcountry's best Mac n' Cheese recipe. Continuing along the foodie line, Celebrity chef, world traveler, bestselling author, and television host Anthony Bourdain will be giving a talk at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.
Tonight also marks the opening of the 21st Annual Holiday Festival of Lights at the James Island County Park.
Charleston's user generated unconference, BarCamp, is back. This year the venue is the College of Charleston's Stern Center and the list of ideas proposed for sessions continues to grow. In other brainy news, it's Mad Science Saturday at the Charleston Museum.
Looking for a free oyster roast with free wine and beer samplings? Who isn't? The Remedy Market on Spring's grand opening party is the place to be local, eat local, and support a new local business. Keep the local love flowing at the Second Annual Lowcountry Artists Market at the Music Farm. This Etsy.com inspired event will feature all sorts of handmade vintage and local goods.
If your Saturday has been designated a drinking day, then you should definitely attend the Smoky Oak Taproom's second Beer-B-Que Bash.
See and be seen on Sunday during the return of the Second Sunday on King Street.
Avid bikers and outdoorsy types, you'll be in your element at the weekly cyclecross hosted by The Charleston Bicycle Co. at Wannamaker County Park.
Finally, if you're got a frisky feline that needs a snip, Pet Helpers is hosting the one-day-only Feline Fixing Frenzy.
