Horry County Council talk economic development (Video of council meetings)

Back in October it was reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics that Horry County workers take home the least in weekly pay compared to other counties of our size -nearly half the National average. 

Well, it seems that Horry County Council isn't too keen on those numbers and have taken up efforts to address this issue. This past Tuesday, December 13m area leaders discussed ways of bringing in higher paying jobs that aren't dependent on the spring and summer months.

Their plan includes focusing on aviation (iTAP), technology and marine industries. They also gave an update on the progress of the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation's goal of bringing in 500 new jobs to Horry County.
