Two men bring in 127 pound tarpon from Lady's Island waters

Last weekend Bobby Mack and Jody Hutto made a trip down from their Midlands home for a fishing trip off Lady's Island, and they caught far more than they expected.

Their 60-pound line managed to snag a 6-foot 4-inch tarpon from St. Helena Sound waters weighing 127 pounds.

The S.C. Department of Natural Resources lists the record saltwater tarpon to S. B. Kiser for a 160-pound 10-ounce tarpon caught in 1987 near Hilton Head.
