Number of births to moms on Medicaid falls in Beaufort, Jasper, Hampton counties
The number of moms in total — along with the number of teenage moms — who were relying on Medicaid fell across the region in 2011.
In Beaufort County the number of moms giving birth while on Medicaid fell 10.2% to 862, and the number of those moms that were under the age of 20 declined 26.7% to 121.
