With Fat Patties, Port Royal may soon take Beaufort area's burger crown
The tail end of Parris Island Gateway heading to downtown Port Royal is standing an earnest chance to be the go-to spot for burgers in the Beaufort area.

Word has come that Fat Patties is aiming for a spring 2012 opening in a brand new building at 831 Parris Island Gateway. They'll be dishing up five types of patties for diners to pick from, including beef from grass-fed cows and a blend of bacon and ground beef.
They'll also be dishing up brats, their own ice cream and a "Sweet Pattie Ice Cream Sandwich" homemade cookies, dipped in a chocolate sauce and rolled in a crunchy salty topping.
