Bridges are usually quite popular with runners, but the new span of the J.E. McTeer Bridge between Port Royal and Lady's Island is proving popular with a harder to capture demographic: more leisurely walkers and baby carriage pushers.

Much like the popular pedestrian path on the Cooper River Bridge in Charleston, the McTeer bridge's divided pedestrian path is drawing exercisers who want a good path, a view, and an overt feeling of safety.
